NASBTT Learn for trainees

NASBTT Learn has been offering self-study, app-based training courses for trainee teachers since 2019. Through the NASBTT Learn app our short courses for trainees have been completed more than 100,000 times. They have integrated well into providers' curricula and enhanced trainees learning experience.

We've also just given NASBTT Learn for trainees a fantastic upgrade. As well as our popular training courses we've added 24 new learning modules that map to the ITTECF. We also now offer a new Introduction to Teaching programme to help prepare trainees for their initial placement.

Introduction to Teaching programme

This programme provides teachers with an introduction to the profession in preparation for their first weeks in school. A trainee’s first half-term is demanding, and these five modules enable trainees to prepare effectively and gain confidence for the challenges and workload ahead.

Covers the whole ITTECF

NASBTT Learn provides 24 'core' modules that make sure trainees have all the 'Learn that...' statements of the ITTECF covered. All of the training's course's foundational knowledge is contained within one app in an easy and engaging format.

Evidence base incorporation

Summaries of the evidence base relating to the content of each module give trainees insight into up-to-date research and best practices underpinning the theory.

'In practice'

NASBTT Learn is not just theory and knowledge. We make sure all theory is linked to examples (and non-examples) of good practice and challenge trainees to respond to scenarios themselves.

AI feedback

We now use AI to give instant feedback whenever a trainee does a written task to increase engagement and motivation. Learn more.

Deeper dives

NASBTT Learn also includes a library of 30+ additional modules offering deeper dives into important topics like SEND, inclusion, behaviour and more. These are arranged into 'learning pathways' of related modules to be studies together. Or they can be taken individually as an important supplement to the curriculum.

Great features for tutors and mentors

The modular structure of NASBTT Learn makes it integrate seamlessly into any curriculum. Providers can make sure all the foundational knowledge and evidence base is covered, as well as offering deeper dives into topics to help supplement their curriculum. The modules are also an ideal complement to the Mentor Development Modules.

Badges and certificates for every completed module are great for collecting evidence of learning. The NASBTT Learn tutor dashboard also makes it easy to assign work to trainees and to monitor module completion.
